I was always fascinated by the work of Amadeo Modigliani, that it why for a couple of years

already I have started to study about his life and incredible work that have made.

As a result of my studies I came to several conclusions, f.e. one of it is that think that portraying

the characters, an artist hides their true faces, denying individual traits. He follows his inner sense and vision. Therefore,I am interested in the process: how the paintings were born, which influence

the environment had and what moved the artist.

Rresearching the work of Modigliani and taking his paintings as a basis, I found people who

are visually similar to the heroes of the artist’s paintings.

The idea of the project was about the modern world and the person in it, a reverential attitude

to the individuality and authenticity of oneself and the connection to the history.

For a deeper depiction of everyone’s character, I take as a basis the person’s favorite item. Due to

this, the opportunity for dialogue with both my hero and the audience opens up for me.

Showing the character through his significant item, I build up the connection to the present,

and the faces of the heroes transfer us to the paintings of Modigliani. Thus I am drawing parallels between the reality and the world of the era of the great artist.
